Is Your Anger A Problem?
You might not even realize it, but your anger can be a problem for the people around you. To find out whether or not you are prone to anger, there are many different tests and things available which can help you to determine this factor.
In this article, I will provide you signs to look out for which can help you determine whether or not you have anger issues, but please remember that what I have given you are only some of the most common factors to look for when dealing with anger issues. Although it is not a test per se, it does require you to be completely honest with yourself.
There can and will be far more factors than those covered here, and most of these will be things which are applicable to you on a very personal level. However, if you find that the information provided here isn’t satisfactory enough, or you feel that you need more help, you might want to think about what you can do in the way of getting help from trained medical professionals.
Some of the signs to look out for…
Below I have given in point form some of the signs which you should look for in yourself, or in a loved one, to know whether or not they suffer from anger problems and whether or not they need to have some anger management lessons.
These are as ever only intended for informational purposes and do not take the place of proper diagnosis. You should also be aware that just because you, or someone else displays these conditions, that they don’t necessarily have anger issues.
It is perfectly feasible that someone can become intensely white hot angry, and still not have anger issues.
Since anger is a perfectly normal emotion that all of us have from time to time, it is entirely possible for someone to have a hot temper, display it once in a while when the occasion is too demanding and still be able to control themselves when the time demands it.
These people do not suffer from anger problems, nor do they need to help to control their anger since they are doing an admirable job of it themselves.
If however, being angry is almost second nature to you, if you know that you will get angry for the smallest provocation, or if you are forever feeling resentment at something or other, you might find that anger is at the root of your problems.
This doesn’t mean however, that this is the root cause and that if you cut the anger out of your life that you will be free. You will need to get to the real reason why you are forever giving in to your anger, or why you are forever angry, to really help you deal with your anger issues.
The deciding factors to see whether you need anger management are:
- You are frequently angry
- If your anger lasts for a long period of time
- If the least little thing sets you off
- If you find yourself always on the defensive
- You allow your anger to control your life
- You use your anger to help you get through life
- If your anger is too intense
- You become aggressive when angry.
