In the fast paced world we’re living in today, finding time to stop and smell the roses can be very difficult. More and more people are feeling that they live in utter chaos, overworked, tired and fed up with their lives.

Unfortunately, this is where our world is today and likely to get more hectic in the future. We either keep complaining that we’re running out of time and stressed out or learn to organize our life.

Here are 7 time saving tips to help you organize your life:

1. Take care of one thing at a time. Whatever you find out of place put them back in their place. Don’t think that you will do it all at once later on because it will never get done. Do it now! Practice this both at home and in office.

2. Set achievable goals. Make a plan to do only certain chores each day so that an entire day isn’t taken up by trying to do it all. For example, set the goal of cleaning off your computer desk one day. That’s a task that may take only ten minutes. That’s a whole lot more manageable than resolving to clean your entire house in an afternoon!

3. Make a to-do list. Write down all those important tasks that need to get done. Refer to your list throughout the day. This will keep you focused on the important things and avoid wandering around wasting your time.

4. Go through your closet and find clothes or things you don’t use or wear anymore. Sell them in a garage sale or donate them to a charity. Invest in some functional storage containers. Fill them as needed and when convenient. Before you know it, your closet will be cleaned out!

5. Make a place for everything so that everything has its own place. Use a spice rack for the spices/ingredients in the kitchen. Use shoe rack for the shoes. Hang stuffed animal hammocks in the kids’ bedrooms, etc.

6. Make the entire family responsible. Give everyone in the house responsibilities so that things can become organized and stay that way. Put up a chart on the refrigerator or on a wall that outlines the weekly responsibilities and who’s supposed to do each chore. It’s not your responsibility to clean your child’s room, make sure they take ownership of their own tasks.

7. Make a game out of it. Tell the kids if they help that you can have a special pizza night. Present them with a reward and they’ll work hard, saving you time and getting your home organized quickly.

The importance of organization cannot be underestimated because it carries over into other aspects of your life. Without it, it’s hard to see clearly what’s going on around you.

When your life is organized, your mind is not cluttered up with a lot of things, you’ll be able to think more clearly and provide better solution. You can also feel better about yourself and your environment. Plus, you’ll be able to find more time to do things you actually enjoy.

Here are six tips for improving your communication style:

1. Knowing how to improve communication skills will come easier once you become aware of your own communication style.

Each person has a unique way of communicating. Listen to your own speech. What sorts of words do you use? Which sort of body language and what tone of voice are you using?

Now, think of someone who, in your opinion, is a good communicator. Compare your style to theirs. You’ve just taken an important first step in how to improve communication skills.

2. Now that you are aware of your own style, study the style of those around you. How do the most important people in your life converse? How do they say things? Look for approaches you can model and make your own.

3. Adjust to the other styles of communication. Don’t think it is too late to change your way of conversing because it’s been years. You had to learn to communicate in the first place and you can unlearn certain behaviors or change them. Sometimes we get stuck in a communication rut.

A father once was having a hard time with his teenaged daughter. She was growing and he thought she didn’t tell him what was going on in her life. They were in a heated discussion when he asked, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Her answer was that she had, but he was too busy lecturing her to hear her. He learned that adjusting his style to his daughter would involve listening first before jumping right into solving the problem.

4. To build rapport, during a conversation try and match the other person’s movements, posture and verbal style. Don’t do everything they do, but mirror one or two things. For example, if the person gives mostly short answers to questions, you follow suit.

Or, maybe they talk at a slower pace than you usually do-slow your speaking speed to match theirs. This may sound simplistic but it is a very potent way to make someone feel very relaxed and comfortable in your presence.

5. The way you communicate at home may not be the same as in a different environment. Make sure you change your style to suit the different setting. Some comments you might want to tell your best friend, in private.

Other things can be shared in a group setting. Learn how to improve communication skills by altering your style for the appropriate setting. Many of us know someone who offers far too much information in a group setting.

6. Don’t criticize others for communicating differently. If we all communicated in the same way, we’d soon be bored with each other.

Getting a good grasp of your communication style and finding ways to accommodate other peoples’ styles, is a good way to improve your communication skills.

Scheduling is best practiced when it is done regularly; for instance, at the beginning of the week or month. When you schedule your activities you may want to follow some steps which would serve as helpful pointers to help you get organized:

Begin your planner by specifying the schedule and the amount of time you will allot for the task. Of course this will vary with the kind of and requirements for the task and with the objectives and goals you have set.

After that, you need to identify the necessary actions and steps that you think you will need for the successful completion of the task. This enumeration of actions and steps will serve as an outlined guide for you so that when you are already working on the task you will not literally get lost and confused on what you will do next. In addition, this outline of steps and actions will help you work conveniently.

One good feature of schedule preparation is its quality of being flexible. Once you are done outlining the steps and actions, go over your to-do-list and make the necessary adjustments if you think they are necessary. You can add more time for one task or chip off a small amount from it. You can change the date you have identified and so on, to fit your needs.

More importantly, do not forget to schedule in the bigger, inevitable and most important tasks first. They should be placed in the top order of your to-do-list and the less important tasks should follow. This set-up will help you experience less stress as you work on the tasks because you will start in the right manner. As you work on the most important down to the less important tasks you will notice an increase in satisfaction, pride and fulfillment as you go down the ladder; that is, as you accomplish the things in your well-prepared list.

However, do not forget to allot some time for interruptions and emergency. You will not be told when emergency cases or intermissions will turn up so you better indicate some space in your schedule. Thus, the best thing that you can do is to prepare for it especially if you have an unpredictable work where unpredictable circumstances show up. By indicating some time for such restraints, you and your schedule are being adjustable to meet the needs of the time and respond to them as they show up. You call this kind of time in your schedule as “contingency time.”

Then, after indicating the contingency time what remains is the working time, the time that you have specified to work on the tasks and meet your priorities and goals.

Lastly, give your schedule a final review by going through it thoroughly. Examine the objectives, priorities and time you designated. If you are not satisfied then revise and adjust. If you are already contented, then you have now a schedule to follow.

A few years ago, the term “life coach” was still pretty new to most people, and it was hard for some people to get their head around the idea. In more recent times life coaching has become mainstream, with a lot more people understanding how it works.

Life coaching shouldn’t be confused with counselling because the two are very different. Counselling is more about coming to terms with, and coping with events that have impacted on our lives, often with dramatic results that leave us unable to cope. Life coaching is all about moving forward, it can help to resolve issues or overcome problems that may be holding us back.

In today’s society there isn’t always…..

In today’s society there isn’t always a network of family and friends available to advise and discuss issues with. People are happy to live alone and enjoy their own space, but this can create a vacuum where there is no one around with whom we can discuss ideas or share a problem.

By working together a life coach and their client can identify obstacles and work out a strategy that will give the client a satisfactory result. Of course since no two clients are the same, it is hard to measure results. However, it is the aim of the coach to ascertain the client’s needs and to work with them through any problems to a fulfillment of their goal.

So who is the most likely sort of person to use a life coach? And what are the reasons for doing so? The answer to the first part is, just about anyone, from all walks of life and all age groups. The reasons are many and varied, some people have set goals or targets, they need to achieve, while others just want to work through an issue or problem that is holing them back. They may have just stalled in their life and not know why they haven’t moved on.

Basically the term life coach pertains to any issue that affects our life: Business, Sport, Arts, Education, Relationships, Family, Health, Lifestyle, the list is endless, a coach can help in all areas of life. A career or job takes up a large part of our life and many people use life coaching to help them with issues in this area.

Coaching is invaluable because it enables a client to vocalize their situation and helps them to create a clearer picture of what they want to achieve, what goals to set and then attain. A coach also helps a client to look at their situation from a different perspective so enabling the client to come up with more solutions or choice of outcome.

People now more than ever want to make lifestyle changes and if it’s a major change, they don’t always feel capable of tackling it on their own. By working with a coach, they can put together a plan and work through it. The key factor being that they are moving forward and not stagnating.

Today we are faced with multiple choices in everything, this is not a bad thing, but some people when faced with so many options get confused and end up going round in circles, achieving nothing. Working with a life coach can bring structure and organized thinking into the situation, thus helping the client to get to grips with their issues. A big part of the coaching process is getting the client to vocalize their thoughts, just by speaking about their issues can give them a definite shape and form, making them easier to deal with. Some clients find this very enlightening and are rather amazed at the results.

A life coach is entirely focused on their client’s situation. This means that the client has the undivided attention of the coach for the whole session. In an age when it is hard to get someone’s attention for more than a few minutes this can be very important, listening to the client is one of the many skills that a coach focuses on. Unlike friends and family a coach is unbiased and sessions are entirely confidential.

Today we live life at a fast pace and we are more competitive than ever, because of this, the demand for life coaches will increase as more people realize that getting coached will help them to get a head. Life coaching is here to stay and those who embrace it will move forward confidently along their chosen path secure in the knowledge that they aren’t alone.

There are seven universal principles at work behind every choice, every interaction, every word that is said and every action that is taken. Understanding these underlying principles will help you grow and prosper as a leader and as a person.

1. Fairness

Fairness is a principle that’s understood by children everywhere, but as we grow up, we each may develop our own individual concept of what is and isn’t fair. On your team, there needs to be a common understanding of fairness, and it needs to be defined, communicated and demonstrated by you as the leader every day.

When you make decisions, be open and honest with your team about how they were made and why. People may be resentful or mistrusting of decisions that have been handed down arbitrarily or without input and explanation.

2. Honesty, Integrity and Trust

The people on your team want and need to trust you. They want to know that you’ve given them all of the facts and that nothing is being hidden from them. The way to gain that trust is by being honest and living with integrity.

If you meet this need for them, you’ll gain their trust, understanding and faith. This can’t be accomplished by what you say; it needs to be proven by how you live.

When you do make a mistake or a bad decision, disclose it. Don’t blame someone else, lie or pretend it didn’t happen. Be honest about it and move forward.

3. Potential

Everyone is capable of being and doing more than they are now. Everyone on your team – whether they’re a rookie or a subject matter expert – needs to feel that you see his or her potential to grow, acquire new skills and develop.

People look to a leader to evoke that from them, inspiring and allowing them to grow, evolve and fulfill their potential so they’re constantly improving and learning new things. Don’t restrict their growth by assuming they’ll adhere to your predictions of how they’ll act, think or talk.

See each person’s potential and not their limitations. Assume they’re growing and evolving all the time, and this will empower them to grow into the next phase of their development, instead of stagnating where they are.

4. Growth

When you’re tuned in to each individual’s potential for growth and change, you can help that along, actively supporting the new skills they have acquired that will fulfill their potential. You can accelerate their growth by offering them concrete opportunities such as training and upgrading of skills or connecting them to a business coach or mentor.

Growth will occur through both positive and negative experiences, so encourage your team members to try new things and to learn and grow even through failure and mistakes.

5. Respect and Dignity

Respect is difficult to earn and easy to lose. Adopt the “golden rule” – treat people how you want to be treated. Treat each team member with respect and dignity for who they are and for the work that they’re doing. Recognize and embrace their differences and diversity.

Earn respect by acting with dignity and showing that you have respect for yourself. Be a role model and hold yourself to a higher standard on a daily basis.

Reward people in public and correct them in private. This will protect their dignity and reinforce that they can take risks. They’ll know that if they do make a mistake or fail they won’t be publicly disgraced for it.

6. Service

“For he that is least among you all, the same shall be great” Luke, 9:48. A good leader not only leads the group, he or she is also a servant to the group – a champion for their cause; someone in their corner that will back them up, support them and mentor them.

It’s about not just being a figurehead leader, but being of service, working WITH the team and meeting their needs. Examples include making sure they have the equipment they need to fulfill their roles or helping them to cut through the red tape of bureaucracy.

In his book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”, Stephen Covey advocates that you “seek to understand rather than be understood”. Aim to understand the needs of your team members, and to serve them instead of just leading them.

The leader has to create the sense of a team or a family, adopting the mentality that, “We succeed or fail as a team”. Leaders who don’t understand this are the ones who take the credit when things are good and blame others when things are bad.

In difficult times, teams need to have a leader they can rely on to act as their champion. It is the leader’s job to wear the target and shield the team if they come under fire. That may mean taking ultimate responsibility for a failure or mistake, or fighting to keep funds or people. When the outside world is taking shots at the project, or if there are roadblocks to the project, it’s the leader’s job to shelter the team, take the shots and get through the roadblocks, so the team can focus on getting the job done, and not get distracted by these outside challenges.

7. Quality

“On my Honor I will do my best”. Understand that people want to do their best and put out a good product, no one shows up at work to screw up. As a leader, strive to always exemplify that, “quality is job one”.

Establish a culture where going above and beyond expectations is the standard; not just for the products or services you create and deliver, but for how you live and work. “Walk the walk”, and exemplify this standard in how YOU live and work, and also in how you lead. Don’t cut any corners. Always doing your best is a SACRED PLEDGE that you make to your team.

By recognizing and nurturing these seven universal principles, you’ll capture the hearts and minds of everyone that you interact with. We are all looking to have the universal principles of Fairness, Honesty, Potential, Growth, Respect, Service and Quality fulfilled in our lives. If you can fulfill them for your team members, you’ll connect at a deep level.

You can achieve anything together if you can connect at this basic human level, and your team will work harder for you when they feel that connection. And vice-versa, you’ll connect and feel supported by your team if you recognize these needs in them and in yourself.

The law of attraction is based on the concept that your thoughts are powerful agents of change. Depending on the nature of your thoughts, you can manifest positive or negative things in your life. The following law of attraction secrets can help guide you in attracting positive things.

Everything in life starts with awareness. You need to open your mind to be receptive to new thought patterns. Educate yourself about new ways of thinking, and learn that you have control of certain aspects of your life. All law of attraction secrets are based on positive thoughts.

Reflect on your life and try to understand how you arrived at your current destination. However, don’t get caught up in the past, simply evaluate the path you have taken so far. You don’t want to turn back – you want to move forward.

You need to set goals. You can only move forward if you know what you want in life. A larger goal should be broken down into several smaller goals. For example, if you want to move from a small apartment into a nice large house, evaluate what steps you can take along the way. This could include changing your job to increase your income, or even associating with different people that give you valuable information on how to achieve your ultimate goal.

Keep in mind that everything in the universe is in constant motion. How does that apply to your goals? You may have to adjust your path a little bit now and then. Since humans are creatures of habit, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut. Many times we are offered help along the way, but we don’t see it. When an unforeseen event happens in our lives, we tend to see it in a negative light. For example, on that way to obtaining your nicer home you might lose your existing job. Our first instinct would be to give up, rather than take this as an opportunity to go out and get that higher paying job.

Once you reach one of those smaller goals, it’s time to reflect again. Evaluate how you achieved it, and then strive for your next one. Don’t forget to give thanks! This may sound simple, but many times we are simply ungrateful for the good things that do happen along the way. Feeling happy and giving thanks are part of the law of attraction. It does not matter what your religion is, give thanks to the power or powers that you believe in. The universe will hear you!

Why does this process seam easy to some, and hard to others? Remember that the people that surround us have an impact too. Energy flows easiest when it is not obstructed. Negative people and environments block us from what we are trying to achieve. Don’t hang on to old situations that don’t work.

It does not matter how old you are and what path you walked before, these law of attraction secrets can help. You can still go out there and let the law of attraction work for you!

Are You Willing To Stop Complaining?

How can you change and be the best that you can be. People generally would rather complain about what is wrong than change the situation or their circumstances. I understand the reasons for individuals doing this and the reasons are varied. However, what most people don’t realize is that by complaining, blaming and being overly vocal without taking action, they give away their power to change the situation or themselves. By complaining we put ourselves in the victim role. Are you willing to change and be the victor instead of the victim? Maybe it is time to be your own Hero and take charge of your life. It may be easier than you think and it could also be the best gift you ever give to yourself.

Be part of the solution and not part of the problem. Stand out from the rest and the next time you find yourself in a difficult situation, take a step back and look at what you can do to solve it and let the others continue to complain and vent their frustration. And then take stock of who makes headway and who doesn’t. I have a sneaky suspicion it would be you. Bosses, romantic partners and friends do not like people who play the victim role, so by turning this around and being your own Hero or Victor you could also stand to attract more of what you want in your life: a promotion, a new relationship, umpteen invitations to do something special by friends and family.

What Is A Hero?

If you look at heroes such as Mandela, Ghandi, the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and so on, I believe they all practiced some common characteristics. The following factors, mentioned below, however, are not unique to such amazing individuals alone. We all have the potential to live our lives in the same way. You do not have to be famous to be a hero. The essential question though, is, “Are You Willing To Be a Hero”

In the words of Anthony Robbins – A Hero ==>

Courageously contributes to others even under the most trying circumstances

Acts unselfishly

Demands more from oneself than others would expect

Defies adversity by doing what he or she believes is right in spite of fear.

Moves beyond the “common sense” of the promoters of the status quo.

Is willing to set an example and …

Live by the truth of their convictions

So, are you willing to practice these attributes, no matter the circumstances? Are you willing to stop complaining and instead, be part of the solution and find ways to improve the situation you are facing? The choice is up to you. But know that every time you blame someone or external circumstances for something, it puts you in the victim role. When we play the victim it leaves us without choices. Take charge or play the victim – the choice is yours.

What is the one secret that can help you to achieve anything that you want in your life? The secret is to never give up. What this means is that you must decide exactly what it is that you want to do, or to have, in your life and give your complete focus and attention to that thing. Talk about it, write about it, meditate about it and think about it until you can visualize it clearly in your mind quickly and easily.

By giving so much time and energy to what you want in your life, you are bringing it closer to your reality. Most people never write down what they want to achieve and rarely speak about it to others. The people who are successful in getting what they want engage in behavior that surrounds them with people and ideas and thoughts that are directly related to getting what they want.

1. Think about what you want to do or have in your life. Spend some time each day meditating and visualizing exactly what it will be like when you have achieved your dreams and goals.
2. Tell others about these dreams and goals and hear yourself as you speak out loud about them
3. Write down what you want and give detailed explanations and information about how it will be when you realize and achieve these things in your life.

Most of all, never give up. It may take some time for you to do and have the things you want in your life, but they will come much more quickly if you are clear about your intentions and never, ever give up on them.

First you establish your goals, and then you enforce a strict set of disciplines necessary to cross the finish line of achievement. Every act of self-discipline moves you toward your goals, and every exception takes you off course.

You may be tempted to pooh-pooh away this statement as something so obvious, however before you do, ask yourself this important question: “Based on my goals set, am I ahead, on or below target?

The answer to that question is directly tied to your willingness and ability to remain focused on the key actions necessary for success.

The FACTS are simply this; you are either buying or selling. If you are on, or better yet ahead of target than you are a seller. You have sold yourself on the importance of discipline and have stayed focused in spite of the world of options and temptations that circle you all of the time.

If you are below target than you are a buyer. You have bought the same excuses that have led so many others down the pathway of mediocrity. The things you buy are procrastination; lack of discipline and whatever else is your poison of choice.

Remember this absolute rule of discipline; “If you don’t discipline yourself, you are sure to be disciplined by others”. Don’t believe me, huh? Chew on this, run up your credit cards real high, be late on a few payments and see how quickly those companies are to teach you a thing or two about discipline.

I repeat, “If you don’t discipline yourself, you are sure to be disciplined by others”.

To CREATE HISTORY you must become a seller. Sell yourself on the power of your goal; your vision for what is possible. To REPEAT HISTORY all you have to do is continue to be a buyer. Buyers consume not only products from the store but also excuses from their minds. It, meaning success and failure all begins within the parameters of your own mind and the disciplines of your behavior.

We are all walking, talking power struggles: head vs. heart…intellect vs. emotion. Many leave the steering to their emotions and merely bring their intellects along for the ride. Your goals or your excuses, which is running the show in your life?

Contrary to popular belief, freedom does not arise from “letting it all hang out;” freedom is the result of a personal triumph over excuses and bad habits. Excuses such as procrastination are like toxic waste to your potential.

To experience true freedom, you must prove to yourself that you are the master of your own destiny. Never are you less free than when you are held hostage by your excuses and lack of discipline. When lack of discipline and excuses rule, enslavement and mediocrity, not freedom, follows!

Bad habits are the gravitational pull of your emotional life, and overcoming them is not easy. Change is challenging. Surrender is tempting, and it gets tastier with practice. The good news is that it takes less energy to remain disciplined than to regain it.

The only bad news about self-discipline is that it is so easy to give up. Every compromise in behavior (nice word for excuse) greases the wheels for another compromise. Make a personal “no exceptions policy,” and stick to it.

Self-discipline is an act of cultivation. Self-discipline requires you to connect today’s actions to tomorrow’s results.

There’s a season for sowing, a season for reaping. Self-discipline helps you know which is which.

Winners prepare and anticipate behind closed doors. Lay the groundwork for success carefully: Effective preparation and self-discipline are closely allied. Do your homework. Since most people are rarely well prepared, you will often succeed by default. When opportunity presents itself, burst out of the starting gate, sprint to the finish line, and take home the prize.

Do what needs to be done. Quality living requires you to make difficult choices and sacrifices; it demands that you do the hard work first. You cannot arrive at true success without making the trip.

Self-discipline is a habit. It is not situational, but it is applied situation by situation. Anyone can be self-disciplined on occasion, but to get consistently positive results requires consistency.

It is the day-in day-out practice of self-discipline that determines where you’ll end up. After all, a lifetime is an accumulation of moments, days, weeks, months, and years.

What you do during each moment counts and influences the degree to which you judge your life to be a success. If you aspire to achieve your goals, you must be prepared to play every play as though the two-minute warning clock is running. Every move is significant. Every move counts!

Everyone struggles with self-discipline. The question is not “Do I…” but “Where do I need to exercise greater self-discipline?” The discipline you establish today determines the successes you’ll enjoy tomorrow.

The strenuous life tastes better. When it comes to self-discipline, a key driver of success, EVERYTHING COUNTS!
