Don’t Stop! Stay Motivated!

A lot of people suffer from the “can’t follow through” problem. That’s when you have no problem being able to start something, but for one reason or another, finishing it is a problem.

The lack of a follow through can really set you back further and cause others around you to perceive that you don’t care enough or don’t have the drive to get things done. Usually it’s not that you don’t care, chances are, you just can’t keep yourself motivated to see it to the end of the project. If this is the way you are, you can change the way you approach things.

You can learn how to stay motivated, which will allow you to lead a much more productive life and the people that work with you or around you will be a lot more satisfied with your contributions, as well! You can learn how to stay motivated with the help of motivational affirmations.

You have probably seen motivational affirmations before without knowing it. Little affirmations show up in a lot of places such as websites, calendars, planners, and even on computer desktops. These phrases are meaningless though, until you apply them to your life and make them your own personal motivational affirmations. Free positive affirmations are simple, yet powerful and when you make them a part of your life you really can change it for the better. Being more motivated will make you more productive, a better friend, a better spouse, and definitely a more productive worker!

Motivational Affirmations: Focus on the Here and Now!

Motivational affirmations can be anything that keeps you going. A lot of people use Proverbs such as “Where there is a will there is a way” to keep them moving forward through those tough situations where you might have otherwise given up and just left a project have finished. But of course, the greatest motivational affirmation is the one that is in first person in the present tense. Remember, the affirmation is about you, not someone else! And we’re talking about the here-and-now, the past is history and the future has yet to come.

For example, you might say to yourself: “I am resourceful. I enjoy the challenge of getting things done and I follow through!” There are a number of great motivational affirmations that you can choose from and you may find that you want to change it up to keep the idea behind the motivational affirmations fresh in your mind so you can continue to benefit from them. Other people find one or two free positive affirmations that really speak to them that they use day in and day out for years.

When you use motivational affirmations you truly can change your life. When you are able to push through situations and get things done you will reap the rewards of great success. Whether you are painting a room, quilting, completing a task at work, or planning something with friends when you use positive affirmations, motivation won’t be an issue anymore. You will be able to get things done that you may not have been able to complete before, and you’ll be able to get them done with a lot more gusto. Imagine how good it will feel to know that you will be able to finish everything you start, and imagine how pleased those around you will be, too!

There are simply so many benefits to using motivational affirmations that you simply have to personally experience in order to believe! If a lack of motivation has been haunting you for days, weeks, months, or years don’t simply settle for a life without motivation, change it with the help of motivational affirmations!

The Motivation Theory For Success

Looking for guaranteed success in life? You must trust the motivational theory. Learn this theory, trust it and apply it. You will definitely see a difference. There will be a positive energy development in you that would ultimately drive you to your destination. You will be more optimistic and happy to undertake your task. An enhancement of self esteem and confidence in you is also a result of following the motivational theory.

If you are serious about following the motivation theory in your life for achieving success, here are some important steps you must follow:

• Step 1: The driving force: vision

• Step 2: Define your goal: success

• Step 3: Action Steps: The plan.

Let us discuss the above mentioned steps in detail:

Step One:

- The driving force - Vision

Have you charged yourself up with self motivation? What is the force of motivation inside you? What makes you carry a task or play with full enthusiasm? What is the exact element that helps you to concentrate on a certain thing? Don’t get confused. If you want to know about your driving force, you need to sit quite, for a while, think deeply and answer some important questions. This will make you clear about certain forces that make you work towards your dream. Now, answer some of the questions given below:

• Are you really anxious about the idea of spending one whole day or full week at work in order to make efforts towards organizing a business meeting?

• Close your eyes and think about a great vacation you have recently had. How do you feel about it at present? Can you clearly recall vivid images of the water and sand in your mind?

Now as you picturize all the pictures related to your vacation vividly, you are practicing the skill of visualization related to motivation theory.

Step Two

- Defining your goal of success

This step can be referred to as the detailed version of the step one. Here, you tend to experience with other senses and motivate yourself to define the goal. Here, the goal is the ‘vacation’. You should use all your senses in order to progress towards the success goal. Keep on defining your success goal. Visualize your organization as the top manufacturer or producer of ABC products. Now, this will make you experience the excitement of being the top producer of ABC products. Now, as your senses start feeling the success make note of what you actually observe. Answer the following questions:

• What tasks are you involved in?

• What position have you acquired in your company?

• Do you own an office at the best location in the city?

• Do you see yourself sitting with the other board of directors of the company?

The whole process of answering the questions, visualizing as well as experiencing the achievement of goals will actually define your overall vision of success. Make a note of all that you fee, see, the location you are at, the attire you are wearing and other people’s reaction towards you. The more detailed is your version, the better you would be able to define your goal. For instance, if you want to be famous, you cannot reach your goal until you define being ‘famous’.

Step Three

- The plan of action and your steps towards it

Once you have your vision of what success is to you, you can start working towards your goal.

Motivation: Dictating The Terms For Yourself

The importance of the word named “motivation” conveys lot more than it seems to have. Anything and everything that have to be done won’t be materialized unless and until it is supplemented by the crucial entity named “motivation”. Motivation is not something that could be manufactured, instead it has to come from within, rather, has to be cultivated.

It won’t ever be an animated reality if I mention that it is because of this motivation that world progresses even a fraction of a second. So, in a micro sense, each human needs to be motivated for every deed of his to be done. If you understand that the greatest or the ever discussed topic in psychological arena is motivation related aspects, its importance is conveyed and taken for granted.

Though we state that motivation is more or less a mental concern, it should not be stated that the physical well being and fitness have hardly any role to play. Moreover it could be stated that, motivation related problems are cancerously growing among the youth. This is so severe a scenario that they have to have a serious look at the mental status, physical well being and attitude. People, who are addicted to habits like smoking, alcohol consumption etc, should treat motivation as a pivotal entity in recovering themselves from those habits.

People who find it difficult to change their habits or people who continuously fails in motivating themselves to move forward to achieve their desired goal would find hypnosis as an effective solution. Hypnosis could very well be stated as a process of changing the well settled habitual mental status of people which help them in uprooting the so called status, to lead a better living. In whatever one does, motivation holds the key. The situations could be as diverse as it can be like meeting the deadline when given a job, stopping a bad habit like smoking or consumption of alcohol, reducing the weight drastically etc..

It should be reiterated that motivation finds its root in beliefs. If you have a strong faith in yourself, or if you have strong belief that some particular thing could be done within the stipulated time, you starts working hard on it. You are motivated to toil hard since you have the faith or belief that, it could be done. But at any point of time, if your belief or faith got hurt by any means, you are letting yourself down and where is your motivating factor? You find it difficult to dictate the terms for yourself. Here, hypnosis is so relevant. Statistical analysis shows that over 90% of people can be hypnotized. To motivate yourself, hypnosis can very well help you for sure. In this technologically advanced world, you only need to be choosy in selecting the media you need to get hypnotized. Compact disks, MP3 s etc are available in the market which essentially deals with hypnosis related to motivation issues.

It is so amazing to study that, which attribute of human mind caused him to be under motivated; the same attribute helps him to prepare himself for hypnosis, and come out successfully. That attribute, being the delicacy of human mind forms the leanest of all the bridges between an under motivated and a motivated mind set.

Tips For Staying Motivated

Staying Motivated - 5 Tips
By Pierre English

Motivation is a powerful tool to help you succeed in your business. How motivated you are and continue to make forward progress will determine whether you succeed or not.

Benefits of being motivated

People who are motivated are happier, more creative, have more energy, are flexible, are more optimistic, are more apt to stay healthy, these are just a few of the benefits of staying positive.

What is Motivation?

The dictionary definition of motivation is: “forces acting either on or within a person to initiate behavior”. So in short it’s the ability of taking action. People often know everything that needs to be done in order to succeed but never take action.

There are probably hundreds of ways of staying motivated but here are five that I apply on a regular basis in my life.

1. Setting goals - I’ve talked before about the importance of having goals. We often think that goals are for big companies, but you should remember that your life is your business. Ask anyone who is successful if they have goals and I’m sure 99% will say yes. We should be setting short, medium and long term goals in five areas: family, financial, spiritual, career and physical.

2. Find positive people to hang around with- I have once heard this expression “The rotten Apple spoils his Companion”. If you hang around positive people you will be happier and they will also inspire you to stay motivated.

3. Smile - I’m sure you have heard that smiling is contagious. When you smile at someone and they smile back at you this is an incredible motivational force.

4. Talk positively- Like smiling, using positive word not only makes you feel better but will also be beneficial to the people around you. Having an enthusiastic tone of voice and smiling when you talk will bring forth a positive reaction in every case.

5. Read inspiring books and listen to motivational programs. - This is my favorite way to stay motivated. I was once asked how I could always see the good side of things while everything around me was falling apart. My answer was simple, on my way to work I don’t listen to the radio instead I listen to audio books or personal development audio programs. Today with the internet you can find tons of good audio program, free ebooks, newsletter, etc. You can also go to your public library.

Final Thought

We all have bad days, and being motivated is not just saying positive affirmations. Being positive is being able to take action towards our goals even when everything around us seems to be falling apart.

The Importance of Motivation

Motivation is the fuel that drives a person to take actions and fulfill your goals. In order to create a fulfilling life, motivation should be nurtured as soon as possible. Getting motivated is easy, and even fun. Here are some ways to incorporate motivation into your everyday life.

Set Goals:

Setting goals is the first step of developing and nurturing your motivation in your life. First, take a look at your life now. Are there parts of your life that you feel could be better? How would you change that? For example, if you sleep-in when you should be getting work done, your goal may be to wake up at a set time that would allow you to get more work done. Or, if you find that you do not spend enough time with your kids you might set a goal to read them a book every night before bed or help them with their homework when you get home from work.

All these are very specific goals which are important. Try to make goals that are realistic and attainable. Setting specific and attainable goals will keep your motivation high and makes you less likely to give up. Giving up is the biggest killer of motivation. People who give up easily will lose sight of the importance of motivation.

Self Bribery:

Sometimes motivation just won’t come no matter how hard you try. When this happens, it sometimes helps to bribe yourself with a favorite treat that you usually deprive yourself of. For example, if you achieve the goal you set, then give yourself a treat by going to your favorite movie with your buddies. Go shopping for a new top or pair of shoes. Treat yourself to a new golf club, etc. The treat can be anything as long as it helps to boost your motivation to reach for a bigger goal. The strive to complete a goal is the importance of motivation.

Take to the Next Level:

Once you’ve practiced boosting your motivation for a while, it is time to take it to the next level. As you pass through each goal successfully, set a new and bigger goal. There is nothing that you can’t accomplish as long as you keep developing and nurturing the importance of motivation.

Daily Inspiration For Success

Daily inspiration is very important to keep your spirit up and connect with your inner self. It gives you strength to get through the challenges of life. Most successful people use daily inspiration to motivate themselves. The secret to their success starts from their thought process.

What you think will determine what you believe; what you believe will influence what you choose; what you choose will define what you are; and what you are will attract what you have. That’s why positive people will attract those who are also positive and likewise negative people will attract the negative ones. “Birds of the same feather flock together”.

To remain inspired day after day, you must have a plan or purpose in life. Your purpose in life is the one that will keep you move forward. Stay away from negative people especially those who are the dream stealers. Only keep in touch with people who are positive and like-minded so you can focus on your goals and purpose in life.

Find a passion in you. Passion will make you want to get up in the morning and move ahead in life. Let’s your passion be a guiding light for your life purpose. It will keep you inspired every single day. Armed with your passion, you will be able to face and respond to any challenges in life instead of running from them.

Here are some easy ways to keep inspired and motivated:

  • Have a plan or purpose in life.
  • Be open-minded and take the initiative to seek success.
  • Do not fear failure. Fear can cripple you. Don’t be afraid to try new things.
  • Be proactive and take action.
  • Have a “never-say-die” attitude.
  • Spend quality time with your loved ones.

Reaching The Point of No Return For Success

Have you ever experienced where you’re at the point of either you win or perish? That’s reaching the point of no return. Of course, there are always the positive and negative sides. If you’re reaching the point where you must succeed and failure isn’t an option, then congratulations! you’re in the positive side.

In life, there is a time we need to put ourselves in a situation of “whatever it takes” to succeed. I mean in a legal way and without hurting other people. It is at this time that you decide to face and overcome every obstacle in your path, push yourself hard and do whatever it takes to achieve the success you have always desired. I strongly believe that all successful individuals at one time in their life experienced the point of no return for success.

Here is a story to illustrate the point of no return for success…

There was once a brave General who was faced with a situation where he must make a drastic decision to insure his success on the battlefield. He was about to send his army on shore to face a powerful enemy, whose men outnumbered his. He loaded his soldiers into boats, and sailed to the enemies on shore. When they reached the shore and after unloading his soldiers, he ordered to burn all the boats. After that he quickly address his soldiers before the battle started, he said, “You see all the boats are now burned. That means we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win the battle! We now have no choice! We either win or perish.” And they WON!

If you’re at the point of no return, don’t be afraid! Focus on success, have the attitude of winning and don’t dwell on the past. Just charge forward with confidence and you will surely see success.

To end this article, here is a beatiful song “Pass the point of no return” from the Phantom of Opera. Enjoy it!
