<p>We all know that in order to achieve success, we need to have a strong motivation. But what fuels motivation? Well, the answer is something that fascinates you or object of your fascination; this is a source of motivation. For example, you want to live in a bigger house; let that house be your motivation. If you want to have a better job, let that new job with bigger paycheck be your motivation. Or perhaps you want to have more free time with your family, let that be your motivation. Everyone needs a nudge to propel them forward.</p>
<p>Of course, motivation alone is not enough to be successful; you also need knowledge, skills, persistence, perseverance and more importantly focused and massive actions. However, the biggest obstacle to being successful is the lack of motivation.</p>
<p>To increase your chances and achieve success faster; never lose sight of success. Always keep the focus on your goals and visualize that you’re<br />
going to get what you want in life one day. It’s not hope and it’s not a wish either. It has got to be a FACT. When you think success is not just an option but a fact, the faster you will achieve the success you want.</p>
<p>For example, if an Olympic athlete wants to get his or her medal; he or she will be going through an intensive training every single day and visualizing himself wearing the medal. It has become an object of the athlete&#8217;s fascination. It motivates the athlete to move unwaveringly towards his goal.</p>
<p>Another good source for motivation is to surround yourself with success-minded people. Regardless of how positive or motivated you are, you are still susceptible to negative influences. By surrounding yourself with successful people, they not only can help to motivate you but also share positive thoughts and experiences. This will help you achieve your success faster. Stay out from negative people.</p>
<p>Reading a self-improvement and self-motivation book is also a good source of motivation. Get a notepad, cut and paste pictures of people or things there that can remind you of your goals. This will remind and allow you to smell success every time you flip the pages in your notepad.</p>

<p>People who are motivated are happier, more creative, have more energy, are flexible, are more optimistic, are more apt to stay healthy, these are just a few of the benefits of staying positive.</p>
<p>What is Motivation?</p>
<p>The dictionary definition of motivation is: &#8220;forces acting either on or within a person to initiate behavior&#8221;. So in short it&#8217;s the ability of taking action. People often know everything that needs to be done in order to succeed but never take action.</p>
<p>There are probably hundreds of ways of staying motivated but here are five that I apply on a regular basis in my life.</p>
<p>1. Setting goals &#8211; I&#8217;ve talked before about the importance of having goals. We often think that goals are for big companies, but you should remember that your life is your business. Ask anyone who is successful if they have goals and I&#8217;m sure 99% will say yes. We should be setting short, medium and long term goals in five areas: family, financial, spiritual, career and physical.</p>
<p>2. Find positive people to hang around with- I have once heard this expression &#8220;The rotten Apple spoils his Companion&#8221;. If you hang around positive people you will be happier and they will also inspire you to stay motivated.</p>
<p>3. Smile &#8211; I&#8217;m sure you have heard that smiling is contagious. When you smile at someone and they smile back at you this is an incredible motivational force.</p>
<p>4. Talk positively- Like smiling, using positive word not only makes you feel better but will also be beneficial to the people around you. Having an enthusiastic tone of voice and smiling when you talk will bring forth a positive reaction in every case.</p>
<p>5. Read inspiring books and listen to motivational programs. &#8211; This is my favorite way to stay motivated. I was once asked how I could always see the good side of things while everything around me was falling apart. My answer was simple, on my way to work I don&#8217;t listen to the radio instead I listen to audio books or personal development audio programs. Today with the internet you can find tons of good audio program, free ebooks, newsletter, etc. You can also go to your public library.</p>

<p>We all have bad days, and being motivated is not just saying positive affirmations. Being positive is being able to take action towards our goals even when everything around us seems to be falling apart.</p>

<p>Sometimes motivation just won’t come no matter how hard you try. When this happens, it sometimes helps to bribe yourself with a favorite treat that you usually deprive yourself of. For example, if you achieve the goal you set, then give yourself a treat by going to your favorite movie with your buddies. Go shopping for a new top or pair of shoes.
