How To Live A Happy Life? - Practical ways to help you live a happy life

Happiness is a state of mind. Many of us are seeking happiness outside and it’s nothing wrong with it. But we must also realize that happiness without is impermanent; it will end as it’s time-bound. Impermanent and timeless happiness lies within us!

So, can we really live a happy life? Absolutely! if you’re searching within. Here are some ways to help you search within…

Assess your current life situation and accept it. If you can’t accept your current life situation, then you have the option to change it. Lamenting and complaining about what you don’t like is a waste of energy. Instead, use the energy to initiate change.

Decide that you want to be happy. President Lincoln once said, “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” If you really want to think yourself happy, then make up your mind to do so.

In the judgemental society we’re living in today, sometimes it’s very difficult to ask our minds to think positively. But this is not impossible to do. We all have been controlled and muddled by our own minds for eons. It’s time for us to take back control.

Remember that we’re the master of our minds, not another way around. Therefore, we must learn how to rise above our own minds and being an observer. It needs some practice and it’s practice that is worth doing. When you’re the master of your mind (instead of being slaved by it), you’ll be able to think yourself happy and live a happy life.

Here are some practical ways that can help you free yourself from your mind dominance.

  • Practice meditation daily. Meditation is a great way to learn how to rise above your normal mind or thought pattern. Read this article: Easy Meditation Techniques.
  • Don’t identify yourself from your past. Learn the mistakes from your past and move on, NEVER EVER dwell on it! Clinging onto the past is the main reason why people are unhappy and suffering.
  • Whatever you do for a living right now, enjoy it. Focus on your actions instead of the prizes. Enjoy what you do and do it well, and the prizes will fall into place nicely for you.
  • Don’t try to live in the future. Your future will be shaped by what you’re doing in your present moment. So, give more attention to your present moment instead of craving for something imaginary in the future. The more attention you give to the presence, the more appreciated with life you will become. You can only live in future by living your presence first, avoiding this law will give you enormous stress.
  • Read a self help book. Sharpen your saw as Stephen Covey put it in his best-selling book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”.
  • Associate yourself with positive people and stay out from negative people.

These are just few practical ways you can apply and practice daily to fill happiness in your life.

Easy Meditation Techniques That Will Help You Reach A Meditative State

Meditation - once considered as something that was mysterious - is now taking a center stage in our lives. The reason why it has become so prevalent is because it gives positive effects to both our mind and body. Meditation, if practiced on a regular basis, can give you peace of mind and healthy body.

Meditation is not rocket science, in fact it’s something quite easy to do; with some practices, everyone can do it and enjoy its greatness. There are many meditation techniques exist but the ultimate purpose of meditation is to ‘quiet the mind’.

What do I mean by ‘quiet the mind’? Well, it simply means empty your mind; give your mind a break or make your mind free from any thought pattern. In other words, you are trying to stay in the present moment rather than thinking about the past or the future.

This leads to the next question… How do you do that?

Here are some easy meditation techniques you can follow and apply…

First, you need to find a place where you can sit comfortably without being disturbed by others. Close your eyes. Now, focus or give full attention to YOURSELF. Then, try to quiet your mind. At first, you’ll find it’s a bit difficult to quiet your mind as thoughts will soon creep in.

One technique you need to learn is make yourself become an observer of your thoughts, just listen to what the narrative voice in your head says without engage it. And then calmly remind yourself to focus on the present moment and try to quiet your mind again. With some practice, you’ll soon find it easy to make your mind still, stopping it to drift into the next thought.

If you find the above meditation technique (quiet or empty the mind) difficult, you can practice another technique called ‘Focused Meditation’. With this technique, you’re actually focusing intently on something… a music (sound of ocean waves), your own breathing, a liberty statue or a metronome. The idea is to focus on something that is repetitive and monotone.

Some people find this technique easier than focusing on nothing or trying to empty the mind. But, the basic idea is the same… trying to stay in the present moment and prevent the mind to slip into a normal thought pattern.

If you practice meditation using the above techniques on a regular basis, you will find your concentration improved
substantially. You’ll have a sharper mind and be able to focus on your daily activities better.

Give it a try! It’s good for your mind & body.

P.S. Here is a tool that can help you reach a meditative state within minutes. This tool is known as Meditation Binaural Beats.

Path To Personal Enlightenment | Steps To Personal Enlightenment

In my previous article, I talked about enlightenment and some of its benefits. In this article, I would like to discuss the path to enlightenment.

According to Buddha’s teaching, enlightenment is cessation of suffering. This includes physical, emotional and mental pain. But the term ’suffering’ used here is only one translation of the Pali dukkha (the earliest Buddhist scriptures). Dukkha means a lot of things, there is simply no single English word that can neatly describe its meaning.

It’s beyond the scope of this article to describe what dukkha means. If you want, you can visit Wikipedia to learn more. Just go to wikipedia.org and search for the word ‘dukkha’.In Buddhism, the path to personal enlightenment is called the Eightfold Path. This Path consists of 1. Right View, 2. Right Intention, 3. Right Speech, 4. Right Action, 5. Right Livelihood, 6. Right Effort, 7. Right Mindfulness, 8. Right Concentration.

Again, I’m not going to discuss each step. You can go to Wikipedia to learn the details.

In this article, I will attempt to simplify the path to personal enlightenment based on my own personal experience. Here are the simplified steps you can follow and apply immediately…

Look Inside Yourself. Most of us tend to look outside for scraps of pleasure, love, security, fulfillment, etc. We don’t realize that all these things can be found within. When you look inside often enough, you’ll be able to find the true nature of yourself, inner-peace and fully alert with the world around you. You don’t need to look outside and believe in any doctrine in order to achieve an inner-peace, you just need to look within.

Stop carrying the burden of your past. If you have had pain in your past, drop it like you drop a heavy baggage. You can refer to your past when necessary only to learn from it, but not to dwell on it. If you keep clinging onto your past, you won’t be able to live in the presence. And, if you can’t live in the presence, you’ll always experience pain and suffering.

Don’t try to live in the future. Many of us worry about what they will become in the future. This not only creates pain and suffering but also stress. When you’re trying to live in the future or wanting to become somebody else, you fail to live in the presence. Stress is caused by being here but wanting to be somewhere else. It’s like being torn apart. It’s nothing wrong to have a plan or desire to live a better life in the future. But we should live and carry out our plan in the present moment for it’s the only point of access to a better future. Without a presence, there is no future.

Let me sum up, in order to achieve personal enlightenment, you need to look inside yourself and accept the present moment unconditionally without any reservation. Only by fully accepting the present moment, you can eliminate the pain in your past and stop expecting to become something in the future.

Hence, living in the PRESENCE is key to personal enlightenment. If you can’t accept and live in your presence, no holy book or sacred doctrine in the world can help you to enlightenment. You see, enlightenment is not for some superhuman accomplishment, ordinary people like you and me can also attain it as long as we’re willing to accept and live in the presence, let go the past and stop expecting prizes from future.

If we can live our present moment well, our future will surely fall into place nicely!

What is Enlightenment? - Benefits of Enlightenment

There is no easy way to define what is Enlightenment because there can be many. And, there are many paths to achieving the state of enlightenment.

For me personally, Enlightenment is simply an awareness of your own natural state of being. It’s a state of realizing what you truly are in the present moment; without referring to your past and worrying about what you will become in the future.

Believe it or not, everyone has had an experience or taste of Enlightenment before. It’s a state of bliss, where you feel total happiness and timeless; transcending of any problem and suffering.

Stop and think for a moment, try to recall some of the quality time you spent with your loved ones, the time when you felt total peace, the time when you felt you had total freedom, etc. The moment that made you felt clear, content, uplifted, empowered, joyful, etc.. those are the enlightened moments!

I like the Buddha’s simple definition of enlightenment as “end of suffering”.

But regardless of your religious belief; you can experience enlightenment. You can be a Christian, Moslem, Buddhist, atheist or an agnostic person, it doesn’t really matter!

Unfortunately, the enlightenment we have is often short-lived. We are not able to flourish and sustain it.

According to Buddha’s teaching, the cause of suffering is craving or clinging on things that are impermanent. We continually search for something outside ourselves to make us happy instead of looking inside. By continually seeking things that are impermanent in nature, we will never feel fulfilled, no matter how successful we are.

In the hustle and bustle world we’re living in today, can we ever achieve personal enlightenment in our lifetime?

Well, in all honesty, many of us may not be able to achieve a “full enlightened life” like the Buddha did back in over 2,500 years ago. But, how about if we can achieve a portion of it? Is it worthwhile to learn how to live an enlightened life even though if we may only achieve a fraction of it?

Well, the mind is like the body in that they need proper nutrition to flourish. Personal enlightenment is like nutritious food for your mind. The benefits of living an enlightened life are many. Inner-peace, joy, fulfillment, clarity are just some of the qualities of enlightenment.

This article simply describes the basic concept of enlightenment and its many benefits for personal growth. In the next articles, I will share with you how to practice some of the habits of enlightenment. So please stay tuned!

What is Ultrasonic Subliminal - The Basics of Ultrasonic Subliminal

Our mind is a very complex and powerful system. I’m sure you have heard of the popular quote “What the Mind Can Conceive It Can Achieve”. However, in order to utilize the power of our mind, we need to feed it with good things; much like our body needs nutritious foods.

One effective method used in harnessing the power of our minds is known as Ultrasonic Subliminal. Numerous audio products have been developed and sold on the market to help people to improve their lives and get ahead in their careers.

To get a better understanding of what Ultrasonic Subliminal is all about, let’s take the two concepts apart and see how they work.

What is Ultrasonic?

Ultrasonic is an adjective of “ultrasound”, which is sound waves that have frequencies above the upper limit of the normal range of human hearing, which is about 20 kilohertz. Technically, a person can hear sounds between the range of 20 Hz and 20,0000 Hz.

The human ear itself doesn’t really react to frequencies of less than 20 Hz. However, these can be felt through the sense of touch. Some recent studies had also revealed a “hypersonic effect” – a term coined to describe the phenomenon which demonstrate that although humans cannot consciously hear sounds at frequencies above 20 kHz, the presence or absence of those frequencies has a measurable effect on their psychological reaction. You may not consciously perceive the sound but it can definitely have an effect on you.

What is Subliminal?

In Latin, the term “subliminal” stands for “beneath the threshold”. It represents information that is too faint for a person to perceive consciously. Nevertheless, it is recorded in the subconscious area of the mind. At times, the word subliminal can also stand for the pieces of information that the conscious mind has chosen to pay no attention to in favor of more interesting or more obvious details.

The subconscious mind is not equipped with the capacity for rational thinking, it will accept and record whatever you whisper to it. Therefore, it’s beleived that if we constantly send subliminal messages with positive affirmation to our mind, this positive messages will recorded by the subconscious mind.

Studies have found that people who constantly bombard themselves with positive affirmation or positive self-talk will have a more positive outlook in life. They will feel good with themselves and more confident as well. It relies on the principle that you can only become successful if you tell yourself “I can be successful” instead of saying “I am a failure.” Positive thinnking will produce positive results and vice versa.

So, essentially ultrasonic subliminal is a sound wave that transmits positive subliminal messages to our subconscious mind. By doing so repetitively, you are essentially feeding your mind with good things. This does not only affect your physical health but your emotional well-being as well.

Check out this program Brainwave Entrainment Binaural Beats to discover how to easily create and use ultrasonic subliminal or subliminal messages to empower your mind.

Whether you like it or not, stress will always be around us, we can’t get rid of it. The question is how to best deal with our stress?

Let’s look at six ways to deal with the stress in our life in a healthy and effective manner.

1. Talk about your problems with your loved ones, your family and closed friends. If you’re currently living alone for some reason, get out of your house and look for friends, join a group or gym, learn to live life!  Don’t bottle up your problems, they will become a time bomb and difficult to deal with as time goes by.

2. Exercise regularly and exercise often. Join a gym and make a commitment to go there at least 3 or 4 times a week, make it a habit otherwise don’t join!  Also, you don’t need a gym to exercise, get on your Snickers and go for a walk or run for 30 minutes every day or 3-4 days a week. Again, make it a habit. No excuses!  Exercise relieves tension and produces a calming effect.

3. Sign up for a Yoga class. Yes, men can do Yoga too. You will learn how to breathe, relax and stay focused.

4. Turn off your television and computer half and hour before your bed time. Play some classical or instrumental music softly and read a favorite book of yours. Ocean or nature sounds are a perfect music to release stress. Yes, music does calm the savage beast.

5. Eat well and eat healthy. Eat at least 2 servings of vegetables and fruits each day. Avoid coffee and drink more water, if you have to drink coffee, don’t drink more than 2 cups a day. And put less sugar in your coffee. Eat white meat instead of red meat. Eating healthy diets can become an important factor in limiting your stress.

6. Make certain that you have enough sleep every night. Sleep deprivation not only can cause stress but other serious ailments such as heart problems and high blood pressure. Make a habit to go to bed the same time every night and also wake up on the same time every morning.

Dealing with stress can be challenging but don’t allow it to control your life. Learn to deal with the beast, it’s not difficult if you do care for yourself and make a commitment to cope with your stress. If you are stressed out, you won’t be productive and won’t be much good to anyone. Not to mention that it will also endanger your health or even kill you.

Unsecured Bad Credit Personal Loan - An Alternative to Get Out of Your Financial Rags

Words of CAUTION: I’m NOT encouraging people to borrow money as a solution for personal financial problems. But rather if you urgently need money for an emergency, bad credit personal loan can be a good option for you to consider. This article will explain this type of loan and how you can benefit from it.

Everybody could fall into a difficult financial situation in their life; a job loss, bankruptcy, unexpected health problems, or other unanticipated emergencies. Many people believe that getting a personal loan when they have bad credit is next to impossible, but actually the opposite is true. You can be eligible for personal loans even if you have bad credit.

In fact, personal loans are one of the best option for those with bad credit and when used responsibly, can help you get through your difficult times. Of course, if you have a bad credit history, the loan terms offered may not be as attractive as others who have good credit history. Lenders will perceive those who have bad credit to be more risky borrowers and hence charge higher interest rate.

There are two types of personal loans: secured and unsecured. Secured personal loan requires you to use your personal asset such as house or a car as collateral. If you choose this option (which is NOT advisable), make certain that you can pay back the loan on time otherwise you may lose your house or car if you default on your loan.

I believe the better option is the unsecured personal loan; it’s less risky as you don’t need to use your personal assets as collateral. If you default, the lenders will pursue legal action against you but they can’t seize your property.

People take secured personal loans because they think that it’s much easier to get approved. While this is true but it’s not a good practice as you may lose your precious asset (as mentioned above). Also, the loan market is very competitive these days and this benefits the borrowers as more lenders are willing to help you get that loans; and make their approval process easier even for those who have bad credit.

Typically lenders will look at two main factors before lending to those with bad credit;

1. Have strong reason for needing the money and;

2. Have a good likelihood of repaying the loan.

For example, if a borrower has recently reemployed after a period of unemployment, the lender would be more willing to grant a personal loan to help that person consolidate his or her debt that was incurred during the period of unemployment.

As mentioned lenders tend to charge higher interest rate for people with bad credit; for that reason, you should shop around and do comparisons from different companies and find one that can offer you the best deal. Unsecured personal loans should be considered when money is needed for an emergency and bad credit needs to be restored. So make sure you do your prep works and due diligence.
