Anger Management Tips
The Danger of Anger
Unresolved anger can ruin your life. If you always find yourself angry at work, it will soon affect your career negatively, it can take you down the corporate ladder and into the mail room.
Here are some great tips to help you manage and control your anger.
1. Don’t read minds - Anger can make you to become irrational. When you are angry, all sorts of NEGATIVE things may pop up into your head. Calm down and view the facts and problems at hand objectively before you go around wildly accusing others for your misfortune. Understand the situation and know what are the things that you assume can help you to react approriately.
2. Become a problem solver - Instead of focusing at who are at faults, focus on a possible solution to the problem at hand. View what is making you angry as a problem in need of a solution rather than a personal insult in need of a retribution. Successful problem solvers always focus on possible solutions so that they can respond appropriately to a problem.
3. Be assertive, not aggressive - Managing and controlling your anger doesn’t mean ignoring injustices. Being assertive as opposed to being aggressive will allow you to ask others to respect your rights. Keep your request short and simple, for example say “Would you please let me finish what I am saying?”.
