The Importance Of Consistency

To be consistent in whatever we do everyday can be boring because we like variety, it’s the spice of life. But without consistency, we would never complete the journey we started.

Let’s me share with you my experience, when I was introduced to Internet Marketing back in August 2006, I got very excited and full of motivation to learn because I knew that this was a great avenue to make some extra income. I went through a stage of buying every new ebooks that came out. It was fun to learn many new tricks here and there but I didn’t take any action to implement what I have learnt. I always waited and hoped for the next new product or hype.

Only after spending thousands of dollars, I realized that I need to take actions and be focused. I only started to focus and take consistent action in May 2007. Believe me when I say this… you can only see results when you take consistent action. No Action = No Result!

The secret to succeeding in anything we do is to take action and be consistent in our action. Being consistent means that we need to work on our plan without giving up even though if we don’t see any result initially. Most people started to do something and worked hard for a short period of time and then take a long break and do nothing. This is the recipe for failure! Because once you loose your momentum, you have to start all over again. If you’re consistent in your works, you will bring about focus and determination. And results will eventually appear.

Here is the story about “Hare Races Tortoise”, it illustrates the importance of consistency…

There was a hare challenged a tortoise to a race and the tortoise accepted the challenge. After organizing and fixing the starting and finishing lines, they both are ready for the race. When the race started the hare was fast and well ahead of the tortoise. However, the tortoise kept walking steadily and consistently without being distracted by other things. Being well ahead of the tortoise, the hare decided to take a rest and get some foods to eat. After eating, the hare fall asleep. He slept for a long time and when he woke up he started running again but he saw the tortoise crossing the finishing line. Although the tortoise was slow but he kept moving on consistently without looking back and eventually won the race.
