The Law of Sowing and Reaping: You Reap What You Sow

The Law of Sowing and Reaping is a universal law and it has been a very important part of every aspects of human life since the dawn of civilization. Every culture and civilization have their own way of describing the law of sowing and reaping.

From the words of GOD in the Bible…

Now the one who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with the one who teaches it. Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:6-18).

In China there is a bamboo tree, when planted, watered and fertilized, doesn’t show any evidence of growth for the first four years. However, in
the fifth year, the bamboo tree starts to grow and GROW…. In just 6 weeks that follow, the chinese bamboo tree will grow as much as 3 feet per day, it continues to grow until more than 90 feet in height.

Now, did the bamboo tree grow in six weeks or did it take five years to grow?

Our life is often like the bamboo tree. It can be very discouraging if we don’t see the results we want after working hard. But, this is the Law of Sowing and Reaping. In order to achieve something great, it will take a certain period of time and effort. We should understand that to achieve success in whatever we desire, there is a period of waiting and waiting…. There is a season for sowing and a season for reaping, but we do not do both in the same season.

For those who refuse to give up and continue to do things right, for those who are persistent and not get discouraged even nothing happens, rewards will follow. And you will reap what you sow. It’s a universal law that has never been broken!
