The concept of progressive training is best described by an example. For example, let’s say you want to improve your body’s strength through weight training. Then you need to do is gradually increasing the weights you lift over a period of time. This is necessary to develop and build a stronger muscle. If you keep lifting the same weight week after week and month after month, you are not going to get stronger.

Same thing applies to personal development. For example, if you want to develop a public speaking skill, you need to gradually develop a courage to step up and speak in front of a group of people. You will probably begin to take up a course in public speaking and learn how to speak in front of a small group of people and gradually take up more challenges to speak in front of a larger group over the period of time.
