Stop Making Excuses and Start Taking Positive Actions

If you always complain and making excuses about something, you will never be happy. And worst, you will always be where you are and can’t move forward. In a negative person’s view, nothing good will ever happen, he or she will always feel that there is a conspiracy to keep him from succeeding.

A negative person will never realize his true potential if he doesn’t change his attitude and belief that self improvement or self development begins with him. And nobody is responsible for his success or failure except himself.

I am sure you have encountered such individual in your life and even in your company. He or she will always complain that there is not enough training given by the management, they blame the government for the high taxes and they even blame their parents for not doing enough for them.

Focusing and blaming external factors for our own shortcomings is the easy way out but it will not help to solve any problem. To make a positive change in your life, you need to make a conscious decision to take actions without blaming or waiting for others to initiate it.

Here are some tips for self improvement that may be of value to you:

  • Whatever you want to achieve in your life, take action and start doing something about it. For example, if you want to lose some excess weight, learn how to cultivate your healthy eating habit and commit yourself to a regular exercise or training program.
  • Focus on one or two things at a time. If you have a massive “to-dos” list, by looking at it can be intimidating. Choose one or two personal or professional self-improvement programme that is most important to you and tackle it one at a time.
  • Spend time with positive people. Surround yourself with positive people, learn from them and understand what attitudes and mindsets they adopt to become positive individuals. The people you spend time with will have a big influence on your attitudes and mindsets, so be careful about who you are spending time with.
