Stop Victimizing Yourself And Start Moving Forward

Blame anyone except yourself. Blame your parents, your teachers, your circumstances, the weather, the government, etc.. etc. These are the symptoms of self victimizing. It’s like that you are totally powerless to help yourself. You allow yourself to become a victim and allow other people and circumstances to dictate and control your life. Self victimizing is bad, very bad. It stops you from breaking out of something that is holding you back.

How to stop victimizing yourself and move on?

Here are some tips you can use to take back control of your life:

  • First of all you must understand that you are not responsible for what happens to you, but you are responsible for how you choose to respond to what happens to you. You may not be able to control the circumstances, but you can definitely control your actions.
  • Don’t try to find faults and blame others, think about how to move forward instead.
  • Don’t think or say that it’s impossible when you face with a difficult challenge, think of how to find a way to overcome your challenge.
  • Don’t think there is nothing you can do about, it’s just the way you are. Think that there is always something you can do to improve and move forward.
  • Don’t see yourself as a victim, see yourself as a survivor instead.

I am not suggesting that you simply get over with anything that happened or treated you unfairly and start moving on. The important message for you to take home is not to let yourself falling into the victim’s trap and remain helpless. Take time to heal your wounds, keep the hope alive, pick up the pieces and move on.
