Your Destiny Is In Your Hand
No! I am not talking about palmistry. I am talking about taking charge and creating your own destiny. Your destiny is not pre-written, it’s created by your choices and actions.
Here is a great story to illustrate that your destiny is in your hand…
There once was an old man who was very well known for his wisdom. One day there was a bright young boy wanted to test and proved that the wise man was a fake. The boy captured a small bird and held it in his hand. He devised a plan to trick the wise man. He would hold the little bird in his hand and hid behind his back. He would then ask the wise man whether the bird in his hand was dead or alive?
What happen is… if the wise man says that the little bird is alive, the boy will squeeze hard to kill the bird to prove that he is wrong. On the other hand, if the wise man says that it is dead, the boy will let the bird fly off, proving that the wise man is wrong. So, either way the wise man will be wrong. Smart plan!
With that plan in mind, the young boy approached the wise man and asked, “Oh wise man, I have a little bird in my hand. Can you tell me if the bird is dead or alive?” The wise man paused for a moment and then replied, “Young man, what in your hand is what you make of it. The life of the bird is in your hand. If you wish it to be dead, then it will be dead. On the other hand if you desire it to live, it will surely live”. The young boy was silent and stunned by the answer.
Concluding thought… I think we all can relate to the above story. Most people have dreams but our dreams may look very fragile at time. Just like the little bird, our dreams and destiny are in our hands. So, we must take charge to control our own destiny. Successful people allow their dreams to fly high, just like the little bird, which will soar into the sky if the young boy released it from his grasp.
